Paph. Sierra Lace

 Paph. Sierra Lace close-up

Registered in 1993, Paph. Sierra Lace is a cross between Paphs Virgo and Greyi, consisting mostly of the species godefroyae and niveum, with a shot of bellatulum. Relative to its species parents, it is easier to grow and bloom, producing large long-lasting pristine white flowers heavily peppered in burgundy spots. Up to two blooms can be produced per stem. This cross can be quite compact, blooming as shown in a 2.5" pot with a 7cm. flower.

Like other brachy hybrids, this plant is grown in a more open mix, and watered less heavily during the winter months. The cool white blooms emerge in early summer, when many other orchids have finished flowering, and present the best aspects of its species parents.
