Paph. Snow White's Favorite

    plant in a rose pot

Shown to the right are two first bloom seedlings from the same cross. The flower on the left has a slightly larger flower, and a pale pink pouch. The flower  on the right has a darker pink pouch, though with some colour break, which may not appear in subsequent bloomings. It also has darker pink striping in the petals and a flatter dorsal . Both of course, are attractive flowers.

Registered 5 years ago, this cross of Paph Greyii x barbatum, follows a breeding line started more than a century ago, in which barbatum types were crossed to brachypetalum species.

Snow White's Favorite is typical in shape and colouration of these old hybrids, but with much improved flowers overall, thanks to a century of breeding. The compact nature of both parents results in small statured plants that bloom easily in a 2.5" pot.
